Asteroids

Asteroids are rocky or metallic celestial bodies that orbit the Sun, varying in size from a few meters to hundreds of kilometers in diameter. Composed mainly of rocks and metals, asteroids are primarily found in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. They represent primordial remnants of the solar system, providing insights into its formation. Space missions explore asteroids by landing on them and collecting samples. Some asteroids, with orbits close to Earth, are monitored to assess potential impact threats.
